About the Hidden Treasures of Western Maine Garden Tour

The Franklin Memorial Hospital (FMH) Auxiliary’s mission is to promote the spirit of service to the patients the hospital serves. Recognizing the importance of support for the hospital and acting as a liaison within the community, the FMH Auxiliary formed an association to achieve these goals and objectives. The 150-plus members host monthly activities and special events, raising thousands of dollars annually to support technology and programs at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

On Thursday, July 24, the FMH Auxiliary hosts its first Home & Garden Tour, titled “Hidden Treasures of Western Maine.” Donations to this tour will provide scholarships to FMH nurses wishing to continue their education, obtain an advanced degree or certification. For many nurses in rural Maine, travel time, expense, work commitments and educational loan pay backs are major obstacles in accessing educational programs. By providing financial support to increase our nurses’ level of knowledge, the nurses as well as the whole community benefit. The knowledge that these nurses can share with other health care professionals will improve professional practice and patient outcomes.

The Tour features nine fabulous Hidden Treasures and is the first and only home and garden tour ever held in the Farmington/Wilton area. Price of the $25 ticket includes a gourmet box lunch at Franklin Memorial Hospital in the Bass Room and a free concert between 11 am and 1 p.m. If you’re not a millionaire but want to see homes that look like a million, visit the Hidden Treasures of Western Maine Home & Garden Tour on July 24.
